Fashions on the Field - 3pm in the front of Grandstand


Fashion and style are always an important part of any race day and Lockhart Picnic Races are no exception.  
Judging of Fashions on the Field will take place in the following categories:

Most Elegant Lady - $900
  • Aged 19+
  • Elegant, Classic and timeless outfit which express originality, with a clear understanding of seasonal race wear.
  • Appropriateness of the outfit for the individual and the Spring carnival racing season.
  • Attention to detail with accessories.
  • Head wear is essential and should be of a contemporary design to compliment the outfit

Best Dressed Couple - $750
  • Couple should be individually outstanding and make a coordinated pair.
  • Men’s outfit should include a suit or jacket and tie
  • Women’s outfit must include head wear and complementary seasonal suitable accessories.
  • Both outfits should reflect current fashion trends and be in line with Spring racing attire
 
Most Outstanding Headpiece - $600
  • Style and design of the millinery (elements including originality, concept of the design and theme)
  • Quality and workmanship of the millinery (elements including technique, line and trim)
  • Appropriateness of the millinery for the Spring racing season, the individual and the outfit

NEW Best of 2656 - $550
  • Entrants are to be over 18 years of age 
  • We're keen to encourage everyone to enter fashions on the field so this year we have introduced a new category
  • Entrants of any gender must reside in or close to the 2656 residency.
  • Entrants must display appropriate race day fashion that is suited to the season

 Gentleman of the Day - $550
  • Display an understanding of male racewear, with appropriateness for the season 
  • Outfit should be individualised with attention to accessories such as a hat, lapel flower, cufflinks etc
 
Best Dress Teenager -$300 WINNER IS TO BE SELECTED BY ROVING JUDGES
  • Entrants are to be 13-18 years of age 
  • Outfit demonstrating a stylish interpretation of current trends suitable to the race day
  • Careful consideration of accessories that complement outfit is compulsory

Junior Boy & Girl -$20 WINNER IS TO BE SELECTED BY ROVING JUDGES​
  • Entrants are to be 0-12 years of age
  • Outfit will be suitable to the entrants age stylish interpretation of current trends suitable to the race day
