Fashions on the Field - 3pm in the front of Grandstand


Fashion and style are always an important part of any race day and Lockhart Picnic Races are no exception.  
Judging of Fashions on the Field will take place in the following categories:

Most Elegant Lady - $900
  • Aged 19+
  • Elegant, Classic and timeless outfit which express originality, with a clear understanding of Spring country race wear. Think patterns, spring colours and materials, with appropriate footwear.
  • Attention to detail with accessories that tie in with the outfit.
  • Head wear is essential and should be of a contemporary design to compliment the outfit

Best Dressed Couple - $750
  • Couple should be individually appropriately for spring races season.
  • Men’s outfit should include a suit or jacket and tie
  • Women’s outfit must include head wear and accessories.
  • Both outfits should compliment the other, and be an obvious couple.
 
Most Outstanding Headpiece - $600
  • The style and design of the Headpiece is original and unique.
  • Quality and workmanship of the Headpiece 
  • Headpiece is to be appropriate to the Spring racing season, the individual and the outfit

 Best of 2656 - $550
  • Entrants are to be over 18 years of age 
  • Male or Female 
  • Entrants must reside in or close to the 2656 residency.
  • Entrants must display appropriate race day fashion that is suited to Spring races
  • Millinery and accessories are a must

Junior Category- This year entrants are to be selected by nominated roving committee members, and parents to be approached where possible. Entrants will receive a number to enter, and our judge will select a boy and girl winner from the entrant line up. All entrants will receive Pap's Ice Cream Voucher.

Best Dress Teenager Male & Female -$300 WINNER IS TO BE SELECTED BY ROVING JUDGES
  • Entrants are to be 13-18 years of age 
  • Outfit is thoughtfully coordinated, demonstrating a degree of individuality and flair.
  • Outfit is seasonally appropriate and on trend for a country race meet.  
  • Careful consideration of accessories that complement outfit is compulsory.

Junior Boy & Girl -$20 WINNER IS TO BE SELECTED BY ROVING JUDGES​
  • Entrants are to be 0-12 years of age
  • Outfit to be suitable to the entrants age
  • Appropriate and stylish Spring race day wear, including hat and/or accessories
